BIO

Shane Salisbury, owner of Wetcoats Inc. has been in the custom paint and airbrushing industry for over 16 years. His success as a custom painter stems from his early teenage years. Influenced by the skate/surf/punk scene, Shane was always interested in learning how to airbrush.  During his high school years, Shane bought his first airbrush and eventually landed a  job airbrushing t-shirts in New Jersey. This is where he honed his skills in freehand airbrushing.  His wages helped finance his pursuit of a bachelor's Degree in Graphic Design. In college, he learned layout and composition skills which would later be a major part of his custom painting style.

Within a few years, Shane decided to explore showcasing his talent on bikes, left his job in N.J., and  quickly became one of the areas most sought after custom bike painters. Becoming busier than he had anticipated, Shane went out on his own, rented shop space in Staten Island, and started signing his work with the name Wetcoats.  At this point, he obsessed on perfecting his painting, layout, and airbrushing techniques, dramatically increasing the quality of his final product.

Shane's high quality work gave him the opportunity to show Paul and Paul Jr. of Orange County Choppers his skills. The Celtic bike, shown falling off a bike lift on national TV, was the first of many Orange County bikes painted by Wetcoats Incorporated. Since painting the Celtic bike, Wetcoats Inc. has been one of Orange County's three painter's. One of Wetcoats Inc.'s best known projects is Orange County Choppers Black Widow, Wetcoats Incorporated was also the "painter behind the scenes" of many Orange County's production custom bikes. Orange County Choppers' custom production bikes that Wetcoats inc. has painted are scattered from Alaska to Florida.

Other noteworthy custom projects include, Iacona Custom Cycles' Green machine, Iacona Custom Cycles' Gray machine, Hot Rod Steve's Garage's Hot Rod theme bike, Robbie Knievel's custom Snake River Chopper, Rowe Machine's New England Patriots theme bike, and Steinway and Sons' Roger Williams Limited Edition Gold Piano.

In 2004, Shane decided to relocate Wetcoats Incorporated from its New York City location. Wetcoats Incorporated is now located in New Hampshire, in a quite little New England town where, Shane can put an exclamation point on some of the industries most beautiful works of rolling art and not be over burdened with the stresses of the big city.
